KATHERINE
Originally from Colombia and currently working in Australia, Katherine Gailer explores the world through a variety of art forms including painting, illustration, singing and poetry. Gailer’s artistic expression underscores a main theme that looks at the complex relationship between fragility and strength, vulnerability and empowerment– elements which in some ways come to define both male and female experience. Her work also aims to investigate memory and the complexities of beings navigating the in-between places, that exist in the past and present. Moreover rediscovering a sense of the sacred and revisiting our ancient past are core inspirations for the development of her artworks. She studied for a Bachelor of Fine of Fine Arts and completed an Arts Management Masters Degree – both at RMIT University.

JESS
Jess Fairfax is an experienced event and project producer, radio maker, presenter, musician, poet and educator. She is inspired by the emotion and rawness of composers such Olafur Arnolds and the pop-drenched melodies and high end production of artists like The Weeknd. She is fascinated by the science behind the sounds that trigger our beauty bone, those that make you tingle. She also loves the participatory nature of art and the stories and surprises that emerge through collaboration. Through sound, foley recordings, harmonies, beats and melodies she tries to piece together the parts that transform sounds to sentiment and story, making us feel and connect to one another.
